What is coaching?

Coaching is suited for individuals and organizations who are specifically looking to work through a set of circumstances that has left them dis-empowered, derailed and/or in search of clarity and confidence.

It is a way to assist you to intentionally move from where you are to where you want to go by:

Helping you gain clarity and think strategically about how you’ll take the next steps utilizing the best resources available resulting in actions that give confidence you need to give your best.

How is coaching different from counseling, mentoring and consulting?

Counseling and Therapy – These have more to do with uncovering, issue resolution, recovery and healing. It can have more to do with looking at the past, and healing older wounds that may be influencing the present.  Therapy also provides diagnosis and treatment for emotional and mental conditions.

Mentoring – A mentor is a wise and trusted guide and adviser. The mentor is a subject matter expert that utilizes the sharing of her or his experience as a way to train the “mentee” to a specific approach or task.

Consulting – A consultant is an expert who provides a system or process to discover and understand issues and problem and present solutions. Consulting is unlike coaching because with coaching, the answers come from the client.

Coaching – A partnership between coach and client in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires and supports clients as they maximize personal and professional potential, determine the solutions, set the course of action, and achieve their desired outcomes.

What you can accomplish by working with a coach?

Gain clarity on your purpose.  The result of the coaching process is a sense of significance, which is the basis for great decision-making in career and relationships and direction for living a purposeful life.

Create purpose action plans.  Coaching provides the tools for significant momentum to move toward your purpose.

Align with your core values.  Doing what’s important rather than what’s urgent brings less stress, greater productivity and greater satisfaction.

Pursue Goals.  Goal setting frees energy to pursue your priorities while increasing your joy.

Identify and eliminate internal obstacles. Coaching helps you get “unstuck” from things such as fear and self-doubt so you can move forward freely to accomplish your goals and be the person you are purposed to be.

Improve interpersonal and leadership skills.  Enjoy more satisfying and effective relationships with others (family, friends, employers, teams, etc.), increase your contribution to them, strengthen your influence and maximize your ability to reduce and manage conflict.
