Redwood Coaching Announcement
Launching a coaching practice has been quite an experience. Narrowing down what I would like to offer people and putting it on a website was one of the most difficult things I’ve done. At one point, I think I told myself I’d rather do a youth lock in. That moment quickly turned to a rush of clarity. Nothing like flashbacks to give you a jump start!
I’m very excited about the growth of Redwood Coaching over the past year and what we’re working on moving forward. I’m extremely appreciative of and deeply humbled by the support and encouragement we’ve received from family, friends and ministry partners The Bridge Spring Hill, Rick Howerton, Jerry Essary, Martin Methodist College, Ed Trimmer at the Center for Church Leadership, Brad Fiscus at the Youth Ministries of the Tennessee Conference, Deech Kirk and Andrew Zirschky at the Center for Youth Ministry Training, and Youth Ministry Architects.
The launch of our new website hosted at Bluehost represents two significant steps forward in accomplishing our mission of enhancing the lives of clients by empowering them to reach their potential, understand their purpose and reach their goals in the world’s changing environment.
First, I’m extremely pleased to announce the addition of Mark Miller to the Redwood Coaching team. Mark’s character, passion and experience are a perfect fit with our mission and values. His skill set will help us improve our ability to serve churches and non-profits. Be sure to check out Mark’s profile on the About Us page.
The second big change will be seen in our blog. This site has an integrated blog which will replace redwoodproject.blogspot.com with its focus on topics of leadership, parenting, church, education, career and general life topics. The redwoodproject blog will now focus on the issues and needs surrounding the healthy spiritual growth and development of teenagers and emerging adults. It is where we hope healthy dialog on research, trends, culture and community of faith and their impact on the practice of raising and passing on faith to young people will take place. It will be deeply integrated with the work we’re doing with churches, families, Martin Methodist College and the Youth Ministry Institute of the United Methodist Church’s Tennessee Conference. On the surface, it feels like maintaining two blogs can be daunting. We’re simply taking one set of themes we’ve written about all along and giving them a designated place.
We would love your feedback, ideas on things to write about and participation in the conversations. This means PLEASE leave comments! Thanks!
Next up: A series on When Leaders Fail inspired by the recent stumbles of prominent coaches, politicians and leaders in our society.
